Washington, D.C. – DC’s fast-rising communications boutique, Glen Echo Group, was named to Washingtonian magazine’s “Great Places to Work,” the prestigious biennial list of the 50 best places to work in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. Glen Echo Group occupies a special designation as a “Small Gem,” awarded to companies with fewer than 20 employees.
“We are genuinely humbled and honored to be one of Washingtonian’s ‘Great Places to Work’,” said Glen Echo Group founder and CEO Maura Colleton Corbett. “Six and a half years ago, ‘we’ were a company of one in the back of a coffee shop with the idea that creating a platform for people would result in great employees, great work and great clients. To be recognized for that is incredibly validating for us, as it’s something we work hard at every day. And we don’t do it alone. We share this honor with our clients, our partners and our friends, who are as much a part of this place as we are.”
From Washingtonian:
- This is the ninth time Washingtonian has chosen Great Places to Work in the Washington, DC area. The feature dates back to 1999; it is published every other year.
- Among Washingtonian's 50 winning workplaces, there are a mix of sizes (from an organization of 10 employees to one with more than 80,000), as well as industries (winners include information-technology firms, government contractors, financial firms, nonprofits, and more).
- This year's 50 winning workplaces were chosen on the basis of such measures as: generous pay and benefits, interesting and meaningful work, great work/life balance, opportunities to learn and grow, financial stability, commitment to charity and community, and the recognition and respect given to employees.
In 2016, Glen Echo Group’s founder and CEO Maura Corbett was named “50 on Fire” by DC Inno in the Government and Advocacy category. Glen Echo Group was also a finalist for the Platinum PR Awards in the Public Affairs category and featured in DC Inno’s Office Envy.
