Glen Echo Group Adds Six to Rapidly Growing Team

Award-winning creative communications firm Glen Echo Group announced today that Kelsey Besterman, Lauren Gaydos, Kathryn Porter, Kylee Barton, Alex Edwards and Tiffany Garcia have joined the company’s rapidly growing roster.
“We are thrilled to add this infusion of talent to the Glen Echo team,” said Maura Corbett, the firm’s founder and CEO. “These new team members bring dynamic and diverse skill sets across public affairs and tech policy communications, and will enable us to better serve our clients and collaborate with partners.”
Kelsey joins the Glen Echo Group as a director. She previously served as a senior account manager at Proof Strategies and account manager at Gunster Strategies, where she developed and managed state, national, and international issue advocacy and education campaigns for nonprofits, coalitions, think tanks, and Fortune 500 companies. “I’m delighted to join the illustrious and talented team at the Glen Echo Group at such a pivotal point in technology policy, and look forward to achieving many big things together for the betterment of our digital future,” said Besterman.
Lauren joins the Glen Echo Group as a director from NTCA–The Rural Broadband Association, where she was a public relations manager. There, she oversaw media relations and developed messaging strategies for the association. She previously spent several years on Capitol Hill. “I've long been a fan of Glen Echo's work, and I'm thrilled to bring my passion for tech and telecom as well as my policy communications expertise to the team," she said. "It's an exciting time to be in this industry, and I look forward to working with our broadband clients!"
Kathryn Porter joins the Glen Echo Group as creative project manager. She previously worked at communication agencies in both Washington, D.C., and Dubai, UAE, in account service and digital project management roles. “I couldn’t be happier to join the Glen Echo team. I am so fortunate to be working with a group of highly skilled designers that help bring complex issues and stories to life.”
Kylee Barton joins the Glen Echo Group as a senior associate from the World Resources Institute. As a communications manager there, she developed communications strategies and campaigns targeted toward decarbonizing the private sector. “The Glen Echo Group team has been an absolute blast to work with and get to know. I’m excited to build on the great work they’ve already done and bring new ideas to the evolving world of tech.”
Alex Edwards joins the firm as an associate after a multi-semester Glen Echo Group fellowship, where he assisted client managers on an array of communications campaigns and policy issues such as platform competition, spectrum and broadband deployment. “I’m elated to join such a wonderful team. I’ve been fortunate to intern with Glen Echo since March 2021, and I’m confident that this is the perfect place for me to begin my career with some of the kindest people and brightest minds in the tech policy world.”
Tiffany Garcia has been hired as an associate after graduating from George Washington University and completing a successful Glen Echo Group internship. While an intern, she assisted client managers on various social media and communication projects. “As an intern, I loved getting to work on the different issues affecting the tech policy world and learning to build my writing, marketing and communications skills. I am thrilled to be a part of this team of changemakers, and bring my skills to the group.”
